1 drink plenty of water
We have all heard this one before, but why?
Drinking water helps flush the toxins out of your system and keeps you hydrated. It will also help you feel full and eat less. The easiest way to add more water to your day is to get into the habit of taking a bottle of water with you everywhere.
2 Don’t starve yourself
Lots of diets restrict how much food you eat, but if your eating the right kind of foods you should be able to eat enough to keep you satisfied. If your body thinks it its starving it will do everything it can to store fat. When your starving it also puts you at risk of then binge eating. Load up with plenty of fresh vegetables and you will be less likely to eat too much of the bad stuff.
3 Thumbs up for protein
Increasing your intake of protein is a great aid in weight loss. Protein rich foods include, lean chicken breast, and leafy green vegetables. You can also boost your protein with a protein shake. This is a great option for those that just cant stomach eating first thing in the morning.
4 thumbs down for carbs
There is so much information out there about good carbs and bad carbs. It has been shown that reducing the amount of carbs from your diet (foods like bread and pasta) can help in your weight loss mission. Like anything it is worth doing more research on the subject.
5 You wouldn’t put the wrong petrol in your car
Your body is a complicated machine. Like a car, if you don’t take care of it, it will start to break down. Putting the right foods into it will keep it running smoothly. We all know that pigging out on pizza and burgers aren’t good for us. So just think before you put that food in your mouth, ‘is this food going to help my body?’
6 Get activated
No one likes the word exercise. It brings up thoughts of hard work. So instead of exercising and keeping up with a grueling schedule that you cant maintain, just get more active. Find something you would enjoy doing with your friends on a regular basis. Burlesque dancing or paddle-boarding could be fun activities that would do wonders for your body and also your mind as you will be having fun.
7 Don’t be scared
when your overweight you can feel ashamed or embarrassed to go to the gym or to go for a jog down the street. We’ve all seen those perfect little bodies bouncing down the street with their ipods and lycra pants. Well they look that way because they’ve put in the effort to do that. If you forget about others opinions and keep it up yourself, one day you will be one of those cute creatures that others are jealous of.
8 have a goal
Having a goal to focus on help keep you on track and makes you feel wonderful when you achieve them. Keep goals small. precise and realistic. A goal of I will lose 3 kilos this month is more effective than I will lose 20kilos quickly.
9 be prepared
get rid of all the junk in the house and be strong when shopping (shop after you’ve eaten so your not hungry at the shops) if its not in the house, you cant eat it.
10 just relax
get plenty of sleep, studies have shown that when you’re sleep dreprived your metabolism slows down and you’re more likely to reach for sugary snacks for a quick energy boost. Other great forms of relaxation are meditation and yoga.
